A family have paid tribute to a Preston man found dead on a motorway near the city.

Mark Kay, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene on the M55 at Woodplumpton on Thursday morning.

Mr Kay’s family said: “Mark was a much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle and we are all devastated by his loss.”

Preston Police said Mr Kay’s death was not being treated as suspicious.

The Ingol was found near Higher Bartle Bridge, Tabley Lane at around 2am.

Roads Policing Officer Sgt Claire Pearson said: “We are trying to piece together the last movements of this man and so if anyone saw someone at Tabley Lane Bridge this morning or if you have any information that could help with our investigation, please get in contact.”
