The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow across Lancashire this weekend.

There is a high risk of snow across the region from midnight until 10am which means people across Preston could wake up to snow.

Anywhere from between 2-4cm to 5-10cm could fall after an area of rain, sleet and snow comes south eastwards.

The Met Office chief forecaster said: “A depression moving eastwards across northern parts of Northern England on Thursday evening will bring cold air in its wake, causing showery outbreaks of rain to turn to snow, principally on hills but also to low levels at times.”
