A group working to improve the lives of those in Moor Nook has received funding to keep its kids clubs running.
AdvertisementBananas and Biscuits, put on by Moor Nook Central, had begun to start charging after running out of funding.
But Lancashire county councillor Kevin Ellard has signed off £400 for the community interest company to keep the sessions going.
Rosie Vegro, 23, board member at Moor Nook Central, said: “It’s been a fantastic club to run and we’re really glad we can keep it going.
“There’s a lot of families who attend and one of the mothers has taken on the role of coordinating the group.
“We’re really pleased the council has recognised the good work we’re doing at Bananas and Biscuits.”
The money, around £400, is being invested in toys, food and other equipment needed for the parent and kids sessions.
Moor Nook CIC has been runing for a year and operates from its HQ in Langden Drive, putting on events for Ribbleton residents and offering them a space to put on events.
Anyone interested in attending the sessions can follow the group on Facebook.
