Police are hunting a suspected arsonist after a wardrobe was set slight at a flat in Deepdale.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were rushed to the upstairs flat of a building in Ribbleton Lane at 1.30am on Saturday (April 23).
The property, near the Skeffington pub, had a fire in the first floor lounge.
Police say the offenders entered the property and set alight to a wardrobe in the lounge area.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
Detective Sergeant Oliver Jemson, of Preston Police, said: “Luckily the occupant of the flat was not home at the time of the incident, or this could have been much more serious.
“When officers arrived at the scene there were several people in the area and we believe somebody may have seen something that could help us with our inquiries.
“If you know anything about the incident, please get in touch.”
