A pensioner remains in hospital with serious injuries after a collision in Lea on Saturday night.

The 65-year-old man from Wesham was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road close to the Lea Gate pub in Blackpool Road.

The incident around 8.30pm closed the road for four hours.

A statement from PC Hesketh of Preston Police said: “I’ve been asked to let you know that his family are aware of the incident.

“He is still very poorly having suffered head and chest injuries but is currently in a stable condition.”
