A woman was grabbed by a man during an attempted robbery in Deepdale on Friday.
The victim was approached at the junction of Graham Street and Peel Hall Street between 9.15am and 9.25am on March 18.
Police would like to speak to two women who came to the woman’s aid.
The woman was pushed in the chest and was shaken by the man, who shouted at her to empty her pockets.
She screamed and the offender ran off empty-handed down to a footpath next to a nearby apartment block.
Detective Constable Rachael Ashcroft, of Preston CID, said: “This attack took place in broad daylight on a residential street, just moments after the victim had withdrawn money from a nearby cash machine.
“We believe the offender may have followed the victim from the cashpoint, so she is understandably shaken.
“We are now keen to speak to anybody with information that could assist with our enquiries, or who may witnessed the incident.”
The offender is described as being Asian, of thin build, with short black hair and a ‘North West’ accent. He was wearing a light grey padded jacket.
Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting log number 0326 of March 18th, 2016.
