One city photographer decided to find out with a new lens on his camera.

John Drake, 28, took many landmarks from around Preston and applied the crystal ball effect.

He said: “I’ve always loved photograph and I had seen some crystal ball photos online and thought it would be great to use them to do portraits of the city.

“It is pretty tricky to do and it’s been great to learn a new skill while using my camera.”

The IT analyst from Penwortham said he posted one of the pictures to his Facebook account as a test and all his friends told him to do more.

Among the landmarks given the photo treatment are Miller Park, the Docks and the Harris Museum.
