A number of Preston businesses, including takeaways and cafes, have been targeted in the run up to Easter.
AdvertisementPreston Police are appealing for city centre firms in particular to be on their guard.
Businesses have been targeted in Ribblesdale Place, Marsh Lane, Jackson Street, Water Lane, New Hall Lane, Acregate Lane, Lancaster Road, Friargate, Plungington Road and Blackpool Road.
All the businesses had cash stolen and police say they believe the same offender, or offenders, are responsible for the break-ins across the city.
PCSO Stephen Connolly said: “The burglaries have taken place predominately in the City Centre, University area and St. Matt’s area.
“Offenders appear to have targeted premises overnight either smashing a window pane or forcing fire door to gain access. Offenders have then stolen any money left on site, leaving other valuables in situ. Takeaways and other eateries appear to have been targeted along with several other businesses.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Preston Police on 101.
