Family fun events for Preston’s Easter Egg rolling have been confirmed as part of the Victorian tradition.
More than 40 local artists are to be around Avenham Park during the Easter Monday celebration.
Workshops including Easter origami, sculpture making, storytelling, henna painting and bonnet making are on offer.
Dynamic New Animation are performing their new puppet show Tom Thumb and Whalley Range All Stars perform inside a giant pig.
CBeebies TV star Joe Chambers and Mr Yipadee are running a high energy Easter Bounce Off show.
Preston City Council says 20,000 visitors are expected on Bank Holiday Monday, and is warning visitors to bring their wellies. Parts of Avenham Park are still muddy from heavy rain throughout the winter.
Councillor Veronica Afrin, cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: “No two Egg Rolling events are ever the same, with something new and different featuring in the programme each year, while still ensuring the traditions remain central to the event. It’s a wonderful day out for all the family, so don’t forget to bring your eggs for rolling.”
Egg rolling itself takes place on the hour from 11am to 4pm.
