Preston Docks death: Police confirm man was found in the water

Police have confirmed a man’s body was pulled from Preston Docks during Tuesday afternoon.

A section of the Docks, close to Morrisons, was cordoned off from early afternoon.

The police helicopter and specialist diving units were used to recover the body of the man.

Police say the man is believed to be 59 and from Warton.

The body has not been formally identified but the man’s family has been informed.

No investigation has been launched as the death is not thought to be suspicious.

A file will be passed to the coroner.
