New figures reveal Preston to have some of the highest rates for teenage pregnancy in Britain.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that there were 22,653 conceptions to girls under 18 in 2014. 4,160 of these were to girls under the age of 16.
Preston was the sixth highest area in Britain according to the statistics with 38.6 per 1000.
By comparison, the highest in the UK was Nuneaton and Bedworth with 43 per 1000.
However, despite the news that Preston ranks highly, the rates across the UK in general are at the lowest ever.
Blackpool also features highly, with 37.3 per 1000, while Hart, an area of Hampshire, was lowest with 5.2.
The chart below shows how Preston ranks compared to the rest in the top 10 for 2014.
