A number of would-be thieves are being hunted by police after attempted burglaries and thefts in the Tulketh area.

Preston Police have issued a warning for residents in the area between Brook Street, Tulketh Brow and Woodplumpton Road to be on their guard.

They have received reports of a number of men trying car doors around 1am on Sunday, and also walking up driveways in the PR2 postcode area.

One of the men is described as white, mid to late 20s, medium build, 5’6″ and dark shaven hair.

Police searched the area but could not trace the men.

PCSO Stephen Connolly said: “When you’re getting home this afternoon please ensure that you lock up your car and remove anything of value from display.”

Anyone with information on the identity of the men is asked to call Lancashire Police on 101.
