A Hoghton pub has been targeted during a burglary where cash was taken from a fruit machine.

The Black Horse Hotel in Gregson Lane was broken into between midnight and 7am during Friday 5 February.

Preston Police say the pub has been approached from the rear and a window smashed before the offender gained access to the ground floor.

The fruit machine was targeted with coins and notes to the value of around £1,000 taken.

PC Dave Senior said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that could help us with our enquiries.

“The Black Horse Hotel is in a residential area and somebody out and about in the vicinity during the time period in question may have seen something that could prove extremely helpful to our investigation.

Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log number 0180 of February 5th.
