A smoking inferno is not what most people expect when having their morning shower.

But the aftermath of a wash for this Deepdale resident can be seen in a picture released by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Two fire crews from Preston Fire Station were called at 7.30am on Friday to the house in Chester Road.

They put out the blaze which caused severe damage to the shower and to the bathroom.

No injuries were sustained and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
