A Japanese teacher has written to the city of Preston asking for a penpal.

The high school teacher says he ‘loves Preston’ and wants to correspond with someone in the city.

Preston City Council received the letter on Monday.

A spokeswoman for the council said: “He’s based in Osaka and is looking to find a penpal in Preston.

“He is interested in the history of Preston; the people; our events; and improving his English. If you can speak Japanese, that would be great too!”
