A sponsored run to raise money for community-based sports in the UK is to take place for Preston.
AdvertisementSainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile returns to Avenham and Miller Park on Sunday 20 March.
There’s also a swimathon at Fulwood Leisure Centre from Friday 18 March to Sunday 20 March.
The events help raise millions of pounds for grassroots sports provision in the country, in 2014 nearly £72m was raised.
Avenham Park will have a one, three and six mile course available to runners.
The swimathon has distances of 1.5k, 2.5k and 5k to be swum.
Entering the Sport Relief mile is £7 for adults, £3 for children and £17 for a family. The event starts from 10am, with staggered starts for each distance.
