Proms are becoming increasingly popular with British schools
Already planning your child’s prom outfit?
What was once a tradition in the United States is becoming a staple of the British summer and is an industry worth £80million a year.
Teenagers across Preston, and their parents, are preparing to celebrate leaving their high school or college.
Preston Guild Hall is to play host to a red-carpet event with everything needed for the perfect prom.
Sarah Burns, managing director of Prom Fayres UK, said: “Our Prom Fayres have been hugely successful in the past. We are inviting every school leaver in Lancashire to attend. Our events are the largest of their kind staged in the North West. Prom Fayres UK takes the hassle away from the pupils, and especially their parents.
“Instead of chasing here, there and everywhere for all that they need for their Prom they can find everything at one show, on one day in one place making this highly anticipated event stress free.”
The free to enter show includes two catwalk events showing off the latest trends in dresses, hair, make up, jewellery and accessories.
They take place at 12.15pm and 2.15pm.
A raffle is being held to win £1,500 worth of prizes including a designer prom dress. All proceeds go to the Sharoe Green Baby Beat Appeal.
The Prom Fayre takes place between 11am to 4pm on Sunday 14 February.
It is open to all teenagers planning to attend a prom this summer and they must be accompanied by an adult.
