Drive carefully
The Met Office has issued a warning of icy conditions overnight in Lancashire.
Temperatures are expected to fall below zero between the hours of 8pm tonight and 10am tomorrow resulting in ice forming on untreated surfaces.
Further shows before the clear spells that result in the drop in temperature will only increase the likelihood.
The Met Office chief forecaster said: “Showers will become more frequent during Thursday, before becoming more isolated again overnight.
“Road temperatures will fall below zero fairly quickly during the evening over upland areas and in Scotland, that is away from windward coasts, then in other parts of the warning area after midnight, so there is a risk of ice forming on untreated surfaces.
“Also, some of the showers may be heavy enough during the evening to cause salt wash-off in some places.”
