Gritting lorries at the Cuerden depot

Key Preston roads are being gritted as temperatures are due to drop rapidly in Lancashire during Sunday.

The Met Office has issued a warning of snow and ice for swathes of the county, including parts of Lancashire.

Preston is covered by the weather warning and temperatures overnight may fall to minus one Celsius.

Maximum temperatures during the day on Sunday and Monday will be five degrees Celsius.

On Monday night the temperature is due to fall to minus two.

Both days are due to be crisp and bright with sunshine.

The weather warning is in force until lunchtime on Monday 15 February.
