Police hunt driver of a Mitsubishi after Bamber Bridge railway line crash

The driver of a car who failed to stop when asked to by police is still on the run.

Lancashire Police used a stinger to bring the chase of a Mitsubishi vehicle to a dramatic end in Bamber Bridge on Saturday.

Officers had tried to stop the vehicle in Clayton Brook around 8pm.

The driver faild to stop and made off from police, who called in the police helicopter from Warton, to help during the pursuit.

It finished with police deploying a stinger in Bank Head Lane, opposite the Hospital Inn.

The vehicle ended up crashing into a fence by the level crossing after its tyres were stung.

The driver made off from the car onto the railway line.

Police are continuing to try and trace the driver and anyone with information is asked to call Lancashire Police on 101.
