Fire crews have been called out after a pan was left on a hob in Fishwick.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called out by neighbours after a smoke alarm sounded in Hawarden Road, off New Hall Lane.

They arrived to find a hob had been left on a lit cooker hob while the owner was not home.

No fire was put out and firefighters used a portable fan unit to extract smoke from the property.

The incident happened around 11.17pm on Wednesday.
