The cannabis plants uncovered by police

A community police officer has uncovered a drugs factory in Preston city centre.

PCSO Barbara Gornall was making routine enquiries in the Avenham area when she found the cultivation of cannabis.

The cannabis plants were removed from a property in Albyn Street East, off London Road in early February.

Preston Police said a 46-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the cannabis plants.

70 plants were found and are estimated to have a street value between £35,000 and £70,000.

Anyone with information relating to drugs in the city, or who suspects drug dealing in their area, can report it to police by calling 101.
