Launch of the Clean for the Queen event
Tidying up is the order of the day ahead of the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Clean for the Queen sees schools and communities across Preston getting their litter pickers at the ready.
Below are the public clean ups happening during the weekend of Friday 4 March to Sunday 6 March.
A focus in Preston is to be the clear up of the Guild Wheel cycle route which was affected by the flooding during the Christmas period.

They join thousands of events across the country for what is due to be the UK’s largest litter pick.
Friday 4 March
Fernyhalgh, Preston Guild Wheel
From 10am to 12noon
Meet at the Anderton Arms car park in Longsands Lane, Fulwood.
Saturday 5 March
Avenham Park
From 1pm to 3pm
Clean up of the area recently damaged by the floods. The park rangers will also be in attendance.
Bull Nose
From 10am to 2pm
Cleaning up the area of the Ribble by the Bullnose which has been left covered in debris and rubbish after the Boxing Day floods
Corn Exchange, Fox Street
From 10am to 12noon
Tidying up the Corn Exchange flower beds
Haslam Park
Timings TBC
Organised by the Friends of Haslam Park and keeping the park looking its best
Sunday 6 March
Fishwick Nature Reserve
From 1pm to 3pm
Cleaning up an area of the Guild Wheel which runs through the nature reserve
