Preston has been waking up to further snow settled on the ground overnight into Sunday morning.

A weather warning for further snow has now been lifted by the Met Office.

Temperatures stayed below freezing overnight to mean between 1cm to 3cm of snow is scattered across the parks and roads of the city.

Stephen Melling had his drone up bright and early to capture the Brockholes Nature Reserve and surrounding Lancashire countryside covered in snow.

The cold snap is expected to last until Wednesday when temperatures begin to rise and wetter weather arrives. Until then night time temperatures are expected to be barely above freezing.
