Teenage boy charged following Ashton-on-Ribble thefts

A 14-year-old boy from Preston has been charged with theft offences following a spate of bikes and shed break-ins in the Ashton-on-Ribble area.

Preston Police arrested the boy, along with two men aged 18 and 21, both from Preston, in Ainslie Road, in Plungington, on Saturday morning.

The 18-year-old and 21-year-old were both arested on suspicion of theft, and have been bailed. The boy has also been bailed.

Police have applied a curfew to all three.

Inspector Paul McLernon said: “I hope this goes someway to reassuring you all that we are working as hard as we can to stop these people committing crime.

“Increased patrols will continue in the Ashton area as we believe there are others involved too.”
