More affordable homes could be built in Ribbleton as plans for derelict land near a supermarket look set to be approved.
AdvertisementCouncillors are being urged to accept proposals for 35 homes and six apartments near Thorn Street.
The land, behind the Morrisons off Blackpool Road, would be developed by MCI Developments and Places For People.
Planning officers have recommended the scheme is nodded through saying it “would be beneficial to the regeneration of part of Inner East Preston by the provision of new affordable housing.”
No objections were received to the development.
In November, when the plans were first tabled, St Matthews ward councillor Veronica Afrin said: “If it goes through it will be a great addition to relieve the shortage of houses within the city.”
Councillors meet for the planning committee at the Town Hall on Thursday 14 January from 1.30pm.
