Preston hip-hop artist Razorrawks will release his debut solo record Rip Eat Prescription at the weekend.
AdvertisementThe rapper, whose real name is Martin Rawcliffe, has delivered the record to describe what life is like on the streets of Lancashire and Northern England.
He has earned a strong reputation following his performance at Beatherder as well as through supporting B.Dolan at The Ferret.
He uses his music to confront common issues such as anxiety, depression and the impact of austerity, trying to tell stories that affect Preston rather than those that you might stereotypically find in the genre.
Razorrawks said: “It’s all about being authentic and having belief in where I come from.
“Writing songs with a completely honest approach has helped more than any medication, prescription or otherwise ever had.”
The album will be launched at The Ferret on Sunday, January 10. The event is free and starts at 8pm. Boothboxers and Lewis Whiteside will provide support.
