Preston Youth Theatre to perform adaptation of Great Expectations at New Continental

Preston Youth Theatre will be perform an adaptation of Great Expectations at the New Continental.

The adaptation, by Jo Clifford, has toured the UK and hit the West End in 2013.

Preston Youth Theatre and Bordello Theatre have been given exclusive access to Jo’s script.

The performances will take place at the New Continental’s theatre on Saturday, February 6 at 1.30pm and 7pm and Sunday, February 7 at 1.30pm.

Preston Youth Theatre works with young people aged 6-18 years old to create dynamic and involving theatre is a range of styles.

Freya Holdroyd, aged 9, said: “I love going to PYT because everybody gets together to make lots of great shows.

“My favourite bit about Great Expectations is wearing the beautiful costumes.

“We get to have fun performing to lots of people. I was scared about performing when I first started, but I was with lots of other people who had done it before and now I’m really confident”.

Rehearsals and workshops take place every Saturday from 10am-2pm and is open to all regardless of ability and experience.
