Motorists are being warned of gale force winds during Monday and Tuesday rush hours.
AdvertisementThe Met Office has issued a warning for 60mph gusts from 9am on Monday.
The chief forecaster states: “A large, vigorous area of low pressure is expected to move northeastwards, passing just to the north of Scotland on Monday.
“This will bring a swathe of very strong west or southwesterly winds across much of the UK.”
The winds may cause disruption to the transport network in Preston and Lancashire.
The warning lasts until 9am on Tuesday.
