A section of a popular Preston cycling and running route has flooded once more.
AdvertisementHeavy rain overnight from Saturday into Sunday made sections of the Guild Wheel route impassable in Fulwood.
Steven Gore, who lives in Ashton-on-Ribble, was out for a run around 9.15am on Sunday and reported numerous brooks close to the route bursting their banks.
He was running along the section just beyond Preston Grasshoppers towards Broughton High School.
He said: “The water was waist deep in numerous places.
“I was heading up towards Garstang. I made my way through the water as I couldn’t turn back.
“My wife was running the Garstang 10k so I needed to keep an eye on my daughter there.
“The water was bloody freezing! Got a bit scary when it got to waist deep as I am 5’7″ and you don’t know how much deeper it’s going to get.”
