Emergency services attend to a vehicle in Fulwood

Traffic is backed up in Fulwood after an accident shortly before 12noon on Wednesday.

Firefighters and ambulance crews are on the scene in Watling Street Road.

Prestonians are reporting delays on Sir Tom Finney Way due to the accident close to the former Garrison pub.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We sent two fire engines to the scene.

“We were called at 11.48am to a collision involving two cars.

“When we got to the scene there was one person inside each vehicle.

“Firefighters administered first aid and helped paramedics remove one person from a car. The other person did not need assistance.”

Fire crews left the scene around 12.20pm.
