Police are appealing for information after a man was spotted acting suspiciously in a Preston shopping centre.
AdvertisementOn Saturday 14 November a man was seen taking photographs of exit points in the Fishergate Shopping Centre.
Officers would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV images in connection with their on-going enquiries following a device being left in a toilet in the shopping centre in December.
The man is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, slim build with stubble and was wearing a dark woolly hat and a dark jacket or body warmer and carrying a green rucksack.
Detective Chief Inspector Jill Johnston from Preston CID said: “While we have no reason to believe there was anything sinister behind the man’s actions, we are keen to speak to him so that we can understand what he was doing in the city centre and establish why he was taking pictures.
“In light of the current threat level, it is important that all reports of this nature are investigated thoroughly so that we can minimise any risk to the public.
“At this stage we do not believe this matter is linked to the incendiary device found at the shopping centre last month.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log LC-20160108-0627.
