Preston’s parks have been left a waterlogged mess after torrential rain during the Christmas period.

The city’s award-winning green spaces have been turned into temporary lakes and run off areas for rivers and brooks.

Ashton Park and Haslam Park have new lakes submerging vast areas.

The River Ribble is beginning to burst its banks along the side of Avenham and Miller Park.

Miller Park resembles a lake as the flood water reaches ever higher.

Moor Park’s new temporary water feature looks like it’ll be permanent for weeks to come.

Flood warnings and alerts remain in place from the Environment Agency as Preston is battered by heavy rain.
