A couple have spoken after their wedding venue was hit hard by the recent floods in Preston.
AdvertisementDan and Kat Miller, who now live in Bamber Bridge together, tied the knot in a special ceremony at the Pavilion on Avenham Park in July 2015.
Flooding at Avenham Park, seen on parks all around Preston over the last few days, saw the venue completely surrounded by water.
Kat, 24, said: “I can’t believe the state of the flooding, it’s the place where I spent the happiest day of my life, and to see it flooded is heartbreaking.”

The one inch of water that got inside the Pavilion caused minimal damage and the café is currently being cleaned to open tomorrow (December 28).
Dan, 22, said: “We chose the Avenham Park Pavilion for our wedding reception because of the impressive scenery and atmosphere.
“To see the reasons why we chose the venue ruined, even only temporarily, is a sight nobody would like to see happen.
“We know another couple who are due to use the venue for their wedding later next year. However I expect everything will be sorted by then.”
Bookings at the venue will all go ahead as planned.
