Police have issued a warning to motorists after a spate of vehicle break-ins.

Nearly 30 reports of thefts from vehicles have been phoned in to Preston Police in the last 72 hours.

All of these have seen car doors already unlocked.

A police spokesman said the incidents were dotted all over the city.

He said: “If you regularly leave your car unlocked you could find yourself becoming a victim of theft and worse still you may find that your insurance provider may not cover your policy.

“If you’re reading this please go and double check your car.”
