A Fishwick man has been jailed for sexually assaulting a six year old girl.
Nadeem Hussain, 34, of Fishwick View, pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting a child under 13 years by touching and one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
Hussain, who was sentenced to five years and two months, sexually assaulted his victim in an attic room on 13 June 2015.
DS Steve Ryder from the Deter Team at Lancashire Police said: “I am pleased that Hussain has been jailed for these horrendous offences and I would like to reassure the community of Preston that although offences such as these are rare, we will always strive to bring sex offenders to justice.
“We take all reports of sexual offences extremely seriously and the victim in this case has been working closely with specially trained officers and has been receiving support from our partner agencies.
“I hope the result at court allows the young victim and her family to move forward with their lives.”
Hussain has also been given a Sexual offences Prevention Order.
