A man was punched in the face while his bike was taken during an robbery in Preston.
The 21-year-old was cycling with a friend on Mariners Way in Riversway around 7pm on Monday.
He was approached by a group of teenagers on bikes who stopped the pair.
During an altercation the victim was punched in the face, knocking him to the floor.
The man’s attacker threw his own bike into the docks before making off with the victim’s white Trek 3700 bike.
The group of teenagers then cycled off towards McDonalds.
Police said the victim suffered bruising to his face.
PC James Hesketh, of Preston Police, said: “This was a nasty attack which resulted in the theft of the victim’s bike.
“We are asking people to keep an eye out for friends who may have recently acquired a new bicycle similar to the one pictured.
“We are appealing to anyone with information to call police on 101 quoting crime reference SA1515189.”
