Detectives on the scene in Lowthian Street
A Preston teenager has been bailed as an investigation continues into the stabbing of an 18-year-old boy in the city centre.
AdvertisementPolice were called to reports of a fight in Lowthian Street, behind the Black Horse pub, around 5pm on Monday.
The teenage victim was found with a single stab wound to the stomach. He remains in a serious but stable condition at Preston Royal Hospital.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.
He has now been bailed until Thursday 10 March.
Meanwhile a 17-year-old boy was due to appear at Preston Youth Court on Wednesday morning charged with Section 18 wounding and possession of a knife.
Four other people aged between 13 and 25 and from Preston have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
