Police vehicles arriving at the top end of Lowthian Street
A group of men and teenagers have been arrested following a potentially fatal stabbing in Preston city centre.
Preston Police were called to Lowthian Street, behind the Black Horse Pub, to reports of a fight around 5pm on Monday.
An 18-year-old man was found with a single stab wound to his stomach and is now in a serious condition at Royal Preston Hospital.
Police say the injury is ‘potentially life-threatening’.
Five males from Preston aged between 13 to 25 have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent and are currently in custody.
Detectives on the scene in Lowthian Street
Det Insp Richard McCutcheon, of Lancashire Police, said: “This was a violent attack which has left a man in a serious condition in hospital.
“We are appealing for witnesses and would urge anybody with information to contact police.”

There is no connection with the stabbing in Fishwick on Sunday morning.
