Dave Myers takes on an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Central Lancashire more than 40 years after he graduated from the institution.

Myers, one half of the Hair Bikers, studied at Preston Polytechnic in the mid-1970s.

The BAFTA nominated chef is being recognised for his contribution to the community throughout his varied career.

He receives his award during Monday afternoon at Preston Guild Hall for the winter graduation ceremonies.

Other Honorary degrees being given out include to Ambassador Donald P Gregg in recognition of his work in Korean affairs.

Paul Hancock, the chief fire officer of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, as well as the former chairman of the UCLan Board Brian Harris, both receive Honorary Fellowships.
