A former jewellers shop building is on the market after closing its doors.

George Banks Jewellers, on the corner of Fishergate and Cannon Street, traded for the final time in early December.

The building has now been listed for rent, and potential sale, with Morgan Martin property agents.

Stock from the jewellers has been moved to the Lune Street shop, according to a notice on the shutters.

It states: “We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers for your support at George Banks Jewellers Fishergate through 20 years of business.”
