Police are appealing for information after a schoolgirl was subjected to inappropriate sexual comments in Preston.


A man approached the 11-year-old victim as she walked along Brook Street in the Plungington area of the city.

She was wearing her school uniform and the man made conversation with her before making suggestive sexual remarks.

The girl ran off following the incident which took place around 4.15pm on Monday 2 November.

DC 2507 Paul Taylor from Preston CID said: “This was an extremely frightening ordeal for this young girl to have gone through when she was simply on her way home from school.

“Incidents like this are rare and we are determined to find the man responsible but we need the public’s help.

“Did you see a man talking to a schoolgirl in the area at the time? Do you have any details about this incident? I would urge anyone with information at all about this to get in touch with us.”

The man is described as having a dark complexion, around 30 years old, approximately 5ft 11ins, of stocky build with short dark receding hair. He was wearing a black hooded top and grey jogging bottoms.
