Preston born WWE star Wade Barrett targeted Wayne Rooney once again at a live show in Manchester tonight (November 9).

Barrett, real name Stu Bennett, has previously exchanged tweets with Rooney leading to rumours of Barrett teaming up with former PNE striker Kevin Davies to take on Wayne Rooney and Steve Austin.

Here, Rooney was in attendance at the televised show of Raw as part of WWE’s UK tour.

Wade Barrett goaded the Manchester audience by saying: “In this ring are two men who can be easily be described as as championship material.

“Which is, of course, more than can be said of Wayne Rooney and Manchester United.”

He then said he would like to invite Rooney into the ring, but he wouldn’t want to see him fail like he does on the football pitch.

Rooney got a retaliation of sorts slapping Barrett in the face.
