Confetti rains down outside the Bus Station during the Preston Passion
The Passion is set to return to Preston once more in Easter 2016.
In 2012 the city was host to the BBC’s live broadcast of the Passion Play.
Now volunters from an Ingol church are working to bring the performance back to the city streets once again.
The Passion will be enacted in the city centre during Good Friday in 2016 and they are looking for actors and singers to get involved.
An open meeting has been called at the Holy Family Pastoral Centre in Ingol to discuss plans for the show.
Brenda Dell from the group said: “This further adaptation has been specifically created for Preston and will be in a totally contemporary setting giving a fresh approach to the Life and Passion of Jesus.
“Beginning with the feasting and jollity at the time Jesus enters Jerusalem the narrative continues through to his death and resurrection. It is a story of challenge and hope which was last played out in Preston for the Millenium.”
The Passion is to start in Winckley Square and work its way to the Flag Market.
The open meeting takes places on Sunday 15 November from 2pm to 4pm. There is parking off Redcar Avenue available.
