Preston man taken to hospital after multi vehicle collision on M65

A Preston man was taken to hospital with injuries following a multi vehicle collision on the M65.

Officers were called to the scene just after 2am this morning after a Ford Fiesta collided with the central reservation between Juctions 4 and 3.

An Audi A6 then collided with with the Ford before a Vauxhall Combo collided with the Audi. A Mistubishi Pajero also collided with the Ford.

The driver of the Mistubishi, a 20 year old man from Preston, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with knee and neck injuries.

The Audi driver, a 70 year old man from Chorley, was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Sgt Finn Quainton, of the Royal Policing Unit, said: “This was a serious collision involving several vehicles.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or the Fiesta in the moments leading up to the collision, to get in touch with us.”
