The Coca-Cola truck coming to Preston has been a highly popular event in recent years.

To some it’s cynical marketing while to others it marks the real beginning of festivities.

However, the tour has snubbed Preston this year and the glittering red truck will not be making an appearance.

The nearest stops on the tour to Preston are at Asda in Wigan and Festival Market in Morecambe.

The Flag Market attracted a huge number of visitors in 2014 when the truck visited but it also inspired protesters calling for the event to be boycotted.

Those who queued were given a free (smaller) can of coke as well as the chance to get a picture in front of the truck.
