Run down and in need of love at Waverley Park
Ribbleton and Fishwick residents are being urged to give their views on plans for Waverley Park.
Known locally as Ribbleton Park there’s proposals for a refurbished childrens play area, redesigned bowling greens and a redeveloped skate park.
The park off New Hall Lane is due to have a major amount spent on transforming its facilities.
A number of options are available and Preston City Council wants the views of local residents before it commits to any revamp.
Friends of Fishwick and St Matthews group has called on residents to get involved.
Options for the park include moving the current skate park and ball park to the northern side of the park.
A community garden could be extended or moved elsewhere in the park.
The football pavilion may also be refurbished, or demolished and a completely new pavilion built.
The proposed masterplan for the park can be viewed on the city council website.
A questionnaire on the park can be filled in via the Friends group website.
Do you use the park? What will you be saying in the questionnaire? Let us know in the comments below
