Preston Markets bags have been doing a bit of sightseeing as Prestonians took them far and wide on their holidays.
AdvertisementA competition to see the most unusual places the bags could go to saw the bags make it as far as Tokyo, Australia, Norway and Denmark.
The winner was a little closer to home as Maureen Robinson took her bag to support Preston North End when they won the play-off final at Wembley.
Two other winners were Fred Donaldson who took burgers and sausages from Adrian Livesey’s stall to his BBQ on the Fredrickstad campsite in Norway.
While Andy Farringdon was snapped with his bag in the sand dunes in sunny Anglesey to win the most unusual place for a markets bag to be.
All three winners receive a £25 Preston Markets voucher as their prize.
Mayor of Preston councillor Margaret McManus said: “I thoroughly enjoyed judging the competition and seeing the different the places the bag was photographed. All the entries were really good and I’d like to thank everyone who entered and say congratulations to the winners.”
