What’s known as the posh pound shop is heading to Preston.
AdvertisementTiger, a Danish design shop, is like a cross between Ikea and Woolworths.
Hoardings have gone up in the St George’s Shopping Centre as the work begins on converting a number of units into the shop.
A statement says: “We’re a Danish design store with a quirky, ever-changing selection of products made especially for you.
“You’ll find things you need, things you’ve dreamed of and things you never even knew existed.
“Things for your home, your parties, your kids and more, all at surprisingly affordable prices.
“Now we’re here in Preston where we hope you’ll be inspired to try out some new things to be creative and – most of all – to have fun shopping in Tiger.”
The chain began in Copenhagen in 1995 and now has more than 500 stores across the world.
It is the third new opening at St George’s this month with Patisserie Valerie and The Entertainer toy shop both arriving.
