Preston Police say three confirmed reports have said two men have been going door to door offering fresh fish for sale.

A statement from the Leak Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The men are described as: white, one elderly, one younger with fair hair and possibly with a north east accent.

“They are purporting to be selling fresh fish from Whitby but are using aggressive selling methods and charging extortionate amounts for small amounts of fish.

“Trading Standards are aware of the incidents and have also issued a warning over the legitimacy and quality of the fish.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
